With the development of hydraulic technology, hydraulic transmission system has been widely used in construction machinery. From a technical point of view, any kind of hydraulic transmission system should meet the requirements of reasonable design, simple structure, convenient use and high efficiency. The quality of hydraulic system directly affects the performance of hydraulic engineering machinery. This paper talks about some understanding and practice of common fault diagnosis and troubleshooting in the use of hydraulic steering system

1 heavy steering

1) if the steering wheel is heavy and there is no pressure during fast or slow rotation, it may be that the oil tank level is low, the oil viscosity is too high, or the check valve in the valve body fails. First, check the oil level of the oil tank and the viscosity of the hydraulic oil. If the oil level is lower than the standard height, add hydraulic oil. If the oil viscosity is too high, replace the hydraulic oil with appropriate viscosity. If the oil level viscosity is normal, disassemble the steering gear. If the one-way valve steel ball in the valve body is lost, install a new steel ball. If dirt gets stuck, the steel ball should be cleaned at the new materials exhibition in Ningbo, which has a deep industrial foundation. If the one-way valve sealing belt has poor contact with the steel ball, it should be impacted by the steel ball to make its sealing reliable

2) if the slow turn steering wheel is light or the fast turn steering wheel is heavy, it may be caused by insufficient oil supply of the hydraulic pump. If the oil level and viscosity are appropriate, check whether the hydraulic pump works normally with a movable horizontal beam on the top. If the oil supply of the hydraulic pump is small or the pressure is low, replace and repair it.

3) if the no-load or light load steering is light and the heavy load steering is heavy, it may be caused by the overflow valve pressure in the valve block being lower than the working pressure or the overflow valve core being stuck by dirt, spring failure or seal ring damage. The working pressure of the overflow valve should be adjusted first. When the selection effect of the no-load sensor is adjusted, the overflow valve should be disassembled and cleaned. If the spring fails and the sealing ring is damaged, it should be replaced.

4) if the hydraulic cylinder does not move and makes an irregular sound when turning the steering wheel, it may be caused by air in the steering system or too much internal leakage of the steering hydraulic cylinder. Open the oil tank cap to check whether there is foam in the oil tank. If so, first check whether there is air leakage in the oil suction tank, and then check whether the pipeline connections are intact, and remove the air in the system. If the hydraulic cylinder is still in constant motion, the sealing condition of the piston should be checked.
